7 Years Later is another bestselling Musso’s book. The book is from 2012. I need to admit that I am a big fan of Musso’s stories, and his books are best for me after reading, as you know, my favorites mysteries.

-Divorce separated them, the danger is going to bring them back together-

Summary

A bohemian artist with a fiery temper, Nikki bursts into Sebastian’s sensible and well-ordered life. Though opposites in every way, they love each other passionately. Soon after, they marry and have twins: Camille and Jeremy.
But the marriage moves quickly towards a bitter end: accusations, affairs, contempt… Hatred slowly takes the place of love in their relationship. Following a stormy divorce, each parent receives custody of one child: Sebastian provides his daughter with a very strict upbringing, while Nikki is overly lenient with her son’s misconduct.
The years go by. They both rebuild their lives, with as much distance as possible from one another.
Then one day Jeremy mysteriously disappears. Did he run away? Was he kidnapped? Nikki has no other choice but to turn to her ex-husband who she has barely seen in seven years in order to save what she holds most dear. Obliged to join forces, Nikki and Sebastian chase after their son, and regain the intimacy they had thought was lost forever.

Impressions

After the divorce, these two main characters, ex-lovers, split parent-ship, and Nikki got Jeremy, and Sebastian got Camille. Since they were so different, differently raced, and with a different energy, their parenting was so different too. Camille was parented by her father, very strictly, always having conflicts because of how protecting he was. On the other hand, Nikki raced her son to be a free spirit, with no secrets between them, and she was very clement to him. These two ex-lovers are very hated and can’t stand each other, so they always complain to each other about each parenting, and blame others. There is so much hate, disdain, etc. They think that their biggest mistake in life is their marriage because they feel love differently, everyone on their way.

After the disappearance of their son, Jeremy, they start the journey, trying to find out what actually happened at first to Jeremy and then Camille. The trip and adventure made them fell everything they forgot, and what they already felt before while they were together. A lot of mysteries, crimes are committed in one journey, and a lot of secrets are revealed. They both found out a lot of things they did not know about each other and the other kid.

So, just at first sight harmless disappearance of Jeremy, became the biggest crime the police could ever imagine.

Rezime

Boem i umetnica žestoke naravi, Niki će uneti vihor svežine u Sebastijanov stabilan i besprekorno uređen život.

Godine neosetno prolaze.

Koliko daleko su morali otici i koliko zlocina pociniti?

  4. That’s the 2nd time this month that I came across a book where the lead character has my name! And, spelled the same: Nikki! I hope that means my odds of winning the lotto are higher. 😉

  9. Great review, I think the book sounds interesting though I do wonder in real life if parents/judges etc would split up child twins.

    1. Yeah, i thought about that too. They did not explain why they did it, but I know they both did not want to give up fighting for parenting so at the end they split it.
